In a 2020 retrospective, Bellephone admits the monstrous "Vajra" was recorded entirely while tripping on mushroom tea.

It's messy, psychological, and stylistically contradictory: a battle record, by concept. Bellephone began the sessions themed around an attack on his own ego, and when his ego fought back, he recorded that, too.

At the time of the album's release, Bellephone considered several of the songs' instrumental versions to be superior, a last-minute change he would later regret. This re-release features several songs with vocals restored.
